The amount of your loan will be based on the value in your retirement account, and while the 401k provides guaranteed funds, you will still be unable to borrow more than you can be expected to pay back. Additionally, your 401k might have rules that make borrowing against it difficult or subject to certain conditions. Be sure to check on this before beginning the process of acquiring a loan against the account.

Step 2: Research the different options available for investing in real estate using a 401k. One of the safest options is the real estate investment trust (REIT), which is composed of other companies that purchase and dispose of property. By investing in the REIT, the investor is allowing others to make the actual real estate investment, and while limits the investor to the decisions of others it also takes some of the load off the investor's back.

Step 3: Research the option of the individual retirement account (IRA) for your investment. The IRA is not always a feasible option for some holders of a 401k, but it is something to consider when planning for a real estate investment with a 401k. Bear in mind that relocating money from the 401k to the IRA could impose a financial penalty, and this might or might not be worth the cost for your investment.

Step 4: If you are planning to use a loan for your investment, research and select a lender. With a conventional loan, you are essentially borrowing against yourself and ultimately pay yourself back with the loan. But this is considered a valid option for the 401k, so be sure to look into it closely. Each lender will have different rules for this type of investment, so ask around, and be sure to check on the specific requirements of the lender. Fees, interest rates, and so forth will vary, and these can have a significant impact on the value of the investment.

Step 5: Select the type of investment that you will use. Be sure that you have consulted a financial advisor, and particularly one that is familiar with real estate investments before you make your ultimate decision.

Tips and Warnings:

Many investment professionals will advise against taking out a loan against the 401k, due to the inevitable risk that ensues. As a result, the REIT might be the only option, because it is usually considered the safest.

Source:
http://www.studiokwriting.com/

Online Commodities Trading - The danger Thing

Online commodities trading looks simple and straight forward to many beginners but it can turn into a nightmare if you trade reckless or carefree. Quick transactions and lower commission rates attracts everyone in this form of trading. However it is very important that you realize the hidden dangers of this system.

The most common danger of online commodities trading is issuing a wrong order. It is commonly found that most of the new traders mistakenly press the selling key for making purchase and purchasing key for selling. Mostly it happens with people who are new to online trading. So you need to be very careful and habituate yourself to check twice before issuing the order.

Second common mistake in online trading is over trading. The main key for making profit in commodity business is to make right decision at right time, every time. If you blindly purchase any commodity just because it is moving upward it can be dangerous. It is often found that people suffer with huge losses due to making wrong decisions out of ignorance.

It is best to trade under a mentor. A well informed mentor can give you right tips and keep lot of frustration and anxiety away from you. There are many online mentors available who charge little fees and provide you complete guidance about when to enter a trade and when to exit.

It is very important that you use stop loss strategy and exit a trade when it is moving against your expectation. It is often found that people trading commodities online ignore stop losses and continue holding. This can result in huge losses.

Futures Brokers - Searching Best Futures Broker Tips

Search for the best futures brokers onlinet. There are many resources available to direct you to viable accredited full service brokerage firms which also have futures brokers. It is extremely important to minimize your risk when buying or selling commodities or financial instruments, to have an experienced current broker.

It could be confusing to determine which full service brokerage firm has the best brokers, so you could contact the exchanges or commodities you wish to do trading in to determine their recommendations. Or you could select one of the top rates brokerage firms as rates by internet reviews and invest a small amount of money to determine if there is a good return.

Additionally you can begin learning about futures trading on your own. Do some research to understand as much as possible and begin formulating questions. Once you have your questions start asking various top rated futures brokers your list of questions on how they handle your trades, what are their minimum deposit amounts, how are their commissions derived and what other charges and fees are associated.

You will also want to investigate the types of platforms and software they use to perform the futures trading. Most futures brokers demand a fast reliable connection to markets to make sure there are no delays when performing the trades.

Find out if the brokers are accredited, if they understand the commodities in which you wish to buy and sell, and whether they have extensive experience in this area. Most experienced futures brokers will provide newsletters, current trending reports and graphs, world market and economic news that could affect commodities and are available to their clients twenty four hours a day, six days per week.

Once you understand all the variances in futures trading and the futures brokers available to give you advice and guidance, you will be on your way to fruitful investments.

Futures Brokers - Searching Best Futures Broker Tips

Triple Your Trading Profits - Q&A - Can You Learn to Trade Forex?

Stuart McPhee and David Jenyns, renowned traders, discuss how difficult it is to learn to trade forex and then go on to discuss indicators.

David: "Some people have unrealistic expectations about how much money they are going to make from trading. They may start out with $20,000.The only way people can come to the market and trade full time with $20,000 is by trading the forex because of the massive leverage. What they don't understand is the risks that come involved with that."

If you come to the market with $20,000 and forex enables you to multiply that by one hundred you have to think what sort of drawdown your system has. If your drawdown is five percent, you need to work out your drawdown of your leveraged amount of your trading float and with your $20,000 you leveraged that out to $2,000,000. If your trading system has a five percent drawdown, you're going to more than remove your entire trading float if you were to reach your drawdown.

These are the things you need to think about before you start trading, and this is why we try to steer people away from trading the forex especially while they are starting. If you're starting, I think a good place is to look at between twenty and forty percent return.

First find out what are your objectives, because this will really dictate what sort of trading system you're going to trade and that's going to dominate trading what market you're looking to trade. You need to decide, am I looking to get income, capital growth, what sort of return am I looking for and then look at the markets you're going to trade. Is it reasonable to expect that kind of return in that type of market? If people did that, they'd come to the market with more realistic expectations and increase their odds of success.

People don't continue trading, because they have a few losing trades and their confidence is shot.
Stuart: That's probably why people ditch stocks early on and go for the more leveraged product. With $10,000 and twenty percent, you're only going to get $2,000 and that's not earning a full income. So forget stocks, and try a high leveraged product, for example, try to learn to trade forex and lose a lot of money very fast.

David: The next question is: I have put options on XLF and XHB financial and housing. Are there any reliable indicators when these sectors have bottomed out?

Stuart: No. There'll be some people who do have an indicator they use to identify when certain conditions have happened. I can't place any great value on any of these indicators to tell us when certain sectors or even stocks have bottomed out or topped out. To me, it all comes down to the price and what is the price telling you.

We know if something has experienced a very extended downtrend, it's not going to suddenly go back up again. It's probably going to go sideways and through a period of consolidation for some time. When you see a sector go through a period of consolidation for a period of two, three, six, twelve months I think you'd look back and say I think it has bottomed out.

I don't know of any indicator that's going to tell you that it has bottomed out or oversold. So for a beginner, it is not wise to trust indicators or to try to learn to trade forex.

Day Trading - How Start Today

Day trader is one of the best ways to make money online. Before you get started with day trading, you must understand what it is. Day trading is the purchasing and selling of a variety of financial instruments, such as futures, options, currencies, and stocks, with the goal of making a profit from the difference between the buying price and the selling price.

This differs slightly from other styles of trading in that positions are almost never held overnight or when the market being traded is closed. This is one of the most profitable businesses you could ever join, especially if you do your homework consistently.

By paying attention to daily stock news and staying up to date, you should be able to make consistent profits trading each and every day. If you are serious about making a living day trading, you should definitely put the right time and effort into it. Day trading is not easy, but spending enough time and practicing enough will earn you a large amount of income.

Before you even start trading for real money, there are many trading simulators out there which will allow you to trade on the market for "play" money as it was real money. This will give you the best opportunity to get your feet wet and see what this is really all about.

When you begin trading, you must know important day trading facts. These facts will consist of your account size requirement; understand "bid and "ask", and stop orders.

These are just a few things you must learn before you begin. Once you master being a day trader, the profits will start to come in. Many people who start to day trade will jump in for real money right away, take a big loss because they never knew what they were doing, and just give up.

This is one of the worst things you can do, especially considering how much money you can make in this market! Have patience, practice, and study this market and you should have no problem making thousands and thousands of dollars being a day trader! I wish you the best of luck!

Source:
www.easydaytradingsite.com

Palladium Bullion Online

Are you thinking of investing in precious metals but you're holding back because the market is down? Well you shouldn't fret. Now is the time to invest. The stock market crashes but that does not mean that you can't stock in your investment.

If the investment you are choosing to do is to buy palladium bullion, then this is the right time to do so.

If you buy palladium bullion, you are fourth in line after gold, silver, and platinum. But that does not mean that the value is not as good as the previous three.

The Paladium value increases the same time as Gold. It is usually at the same level as silver and platinum but it's just fourth in line.

Palladium is slower and this might be a reason for you to second guess your decision of investing in this material. But let us see why some investors still go for this material.

For one, there are different kinds of palladium bullion to choose from. In fact, the range is wider than those of gold, silver, and platinum. That being said, there will always be a demand of a particular kind of palladium bullion.

For collectors, this is not much of a good idea especially if they opt for rare designs but for investors who look at the value depending on the demand and supply, then this is ideal.

The suppliers for people who buy palladium bullion are also insolvent to the law and they treat the creditors fairly by asking them to provide them with their list of assets.

Sometimes this is a way for them to determine the going rate of the palladium bullion that is sold.

Insolvency may not be good for some investors but if the math allows them to save more if they get these kinds of bullion than the others then they definitely would.

As someone who is just one of those people who want to know as much as they can on tips to buy palladium bullion, you should avoid the circumstance of losing your money.

Palladium is not as popular as gold, silver, and platinum and this alone may be a reason for you to be wrongly informed of the going about of the trade. You must then buy something that is delivered clearly to you.

Do not be like those experienced investors who can just pretend their balance sheets and everything they own to the supplier of the palladium bullion. For one, you have nothing to present and two, you don't know what you are getting into.

So before you do anything that you would regret later on, we eventually suggest that you become a member of those forums that can guide you on the steps of what to do when you buy palladium bullion.

Knowledge is crucial and this is the very key for you to comprehend the basics of the investment that you are going to make.

Stock Trading Software - The Best Review

Automatic stock trading software is still relatively new technology. It was originally developed for high profile traders to guide them in their trading, but it has since become available on a consumer level for everyday and casual traders.

Most financial experts agree that right now we're in the middle of a recession. This means that there are a number of bottomed out stocks out there which are ripe for the picking. Using automatic stock trading software to guide you with your picks and point you in the direction of trend ready picks you can make a great deal of money without needing to have the experience of a real trader.

Consider this review of what is likely the best day trading software on the market today.

Penny Stock Prophet is automatic stock trading software which focuses entirely on penny stocks, hence the name. Not only is it incredibly accurate but it does have that extra advantage of specializing in penny stocks exclusively.

I found Penny Stock Prophet to be ideal in today's bearish market because as I said many stocks are at all-time lows but others are continuing to drop. Penny Stock Prophet is especially adept at differentiating between the two and finding bottomed out picks which you can invest in to make a quick buck here and there.

As I mentioned Penny Stock Prophet obviously focus on penny stocks exclusively. This is a very good thing as penny stocks offer some of the best action in the market today. Because of their lower prices these stocks fluctuate with much more volatility than other stocks.

It's not uncommon to see a penny stock double or triple in value over the course of a few hours a day and this program works to find these stocks so that you can get in and get out at peak times with little risk but huge rewards.

The program works by using mathematical algorithms in combination with taking the full scope of the market into account. This is effective because the market travels and patterns that repeat themselves every several years hence going in and out of recessions and recoveries.

By identifying overlaps between the past and present, automatic stock trading software can put together a remarkably accurate depiction of where the market will go next and how certain stocks will perform. Occasionally the program will deliver 4 or 5 stock picks in a row so that you can just keep building on your initial capital.

How to manage your debt quickly…..?

Proper debt management is very important to overcome your debt problem. Repaying debt might take a long time, but you can accomplish this objective by staying patient and diligent. The key to becoming debt free is to stop accumulating new debt. Furthermore, you should create an emergency fund and knock off your existing debts with that.

You should stop accumulating new debt for your best interest. If your debt burden becomes unmanageable, the main reason behind this is that you are continuing to acquire new debt. You should stop using credit right away. Don’t go for a new loan. Discontinue your credit cards. This would help you pay off debt soon.

Credit cards are the most damaging forms of credit because they charge extremely high interest rates. If you keep on using them, you will fall into a bigger debt trap. Only use a credit card when you are absolutely debt free. Stop any recurrent payments like gym membership fees.

Make an emergency fund through saving some money. Prior to starting repayment of debt, it is always essential that you save cash for urgent situations. However, your emergency fund should not be attached with a debit card because then it would become instantly accessible. Don’t spend money on unnecessary items. Open a savings account that offers high interest. When it is necessary, just transfer the funds to your checking account.

Knock off all your debts with strength. Go to the maximum extent possible. According to many finance professionals, the high interest debts should be paid off in the beginning. On the other hand, you can use a debt snowball technique that advises to pay off the debt with the lowest balance at the start. It would take some time to realize the results, but it is really handy. Pay off the debt that creates the biggest headache for you. Use your disposable income to pay off your bills. Control your spending and build up a habit to save. Take initiatives to raise your income. Don’t waste time. Start now. Don’t get depressed.

Contributed by Debt Community Member.

Mutual Fund Investors - Top 10 Information Sources

Serious mutual fund investors must always be alert for consistently credible sources of unbiased information relative to mutual funds. To do this, there are two key questions you need to ask yourself: How much money am I going to have when I retire, and how would I like to receive that money?

The most common way to determine how much money you'll have is to use a pension calculator. Based on information you input about such things as your current salary, your savings and how long you have left until you retire, such a tool will be able to calculate how much money you can expect to receive when you do finally call time on your working life. Not only that, but it's also a great tool for allowing you to see if you need to adjust the amount you're saving towards your pension now, in order to have an adequate sum for your retirement.

When considering how you'd like to receive your money, there are a few factors you need to be aware of. For example, if you've been paying money into some form of pension scheme, such as a money purchase plan, you'll need to turn that money into an income once you retire.

According to the experts, the best way to do this is to purchase an annuity. This basically means you pay a sum of money from your pension fund to an annuities provider, who in turn will transfer it into an income for you. This will continue for the remainder of your life. There are several types of annuities available -conventional annuity with a level or changing income, with-profits annuity, or unit-linked annuity - which can provide you with various different advantages. Which one you opt for is dependent on your individual circumstances and will affect how much cash you receive. It's absolutely essential however, that before you jump straight into buying an annuity you consider each option carefully, as once selected it cannot be changed.

Another option you can choose is to take out a tax-free cash lump sum. Generally speaking, you're able to extract a maximum of 25 percent from your pension plan, which will not be tax deductible. Although this option means your overall pension will be lowered, you're then able to invest the lump sum in other schemes.

Another way to secure cash once you've retired is to take out an Equity Release scheme. This involves taking out a loan on your property or selling all or part of your home in return for a regular income or a lump sum. They can be great for obtaining a lump sum of cash from your home, but are not always the best option for everyone. Consequently, make sure you do your homework before agreeing to sign up for one.

This is a lifetime mortgage. To understand the features and risks, talk to a financial adviser. Taking out a lifetime mortgage could affect your tax position, your eligibility for means tested benefits and ability to move or sell your property. A lifetime mortgage will reduce, possibly to nothing, any inheritance you decide to leave.

So, before you retire, make sure you're up to speed with your financial situation. By spending just a little bit of time researching your options now, you will save yourself from a potential hardship come your retirement, meaning you can fully enjoy your new found freedom!

This article has been written for information and interest purposes only. Here's a look at the 5 biggest 401k rollover mistakes. Some of them are very common and can be costly, either in terms of losing your account's tax sheltered status or in losing out on profits.

Remember, these things have happened to other people.

So, they could happen to you.

#1. You fail to redeposit the funds within 60 days.

The check could get lost in the mail. You could have some kind of family emergency. You might be in the process of moving and somehow lose the check. All of those things have happened to account holders at one time or another. Something interferes with them finding a new account provider and the next thing they know, they are in trouble with the IRS.

Failing to open a new account and redeposit the funds within 60 days is one of the 5 biggest 401k rollover mistakes, because, when if it happens, the entire value of the account will be taxed as regular income for that year.

The IRS will make exceptions, in some cases. For instance, victims of hurricane Katrina were given a full year to redeposit the funds. But, unless there is a blanket exemption like that one, the process is long and drawn out. The best thing to do is to pick a new account holder, before you initiate a roll-over and take precautions to insure that the check is deposited within the 60 day period.

#2. You take more than one roll-over in a 12 month period.

That does not mean more than once per calendar year. That means more than once during "any" 12 month period. I am personally familiar with an investor that rolled over his account, found himself happy with the results, but then found another investment with higher returns. He initiated another roll over 11 months after the first.

That is one of the 5 biggest 401k rollover mistakes, because the funds must be included with your income for that year.

In other words, you pay more taxes.

#3. You choose to take a roll-over instead of a transfer.

A transfer and a rollover are different transaction types. For people that have already decided on a new account provider, one of the 5 biggest 401k rollover mistakes is simply to take a rollover, instead of making a transfer.

When you are not the "middleman", the first two mistakes cannot happen.

#4. You put the funds into a Roth, instead of a traditional account.

This is only a mistake if you are aware that you will need to include the account value in your annual income tax return. Contributions to a regular 401K are not taxed as regular income for that year.

Contributions to a Roth are, but qualified distributions from within a Roth are never taxed. Learn the rules, before you consider going from a traditional account to a Roth.

#5. You fail to consider all of your investment options.

Failing to consider all of your investment options, which could include self-directing into real estate, may be the biggest of the 5 biggest 401k rollover mistakes.

If your account is not earning 12% per year or more, then you might want to try something different.

To get started on accomplishing your retirement goals, choose a real estate turnkey company to invest your self-directed IRA money in real estate.

This is the best investment strategy considering today's economic environment for building a secure financial future.

Isn't your financial future worth it?

higher-ira-returns.com

Penny Stocks Tips - Getting the Most Out of Penny Stocks

Penny Stocks Tips. Many people consider penny stocks to be more trouble than they are worth. They think that the risk is far too great even though penny stocks are a great way to make crazy profits really fast. These people just do not know about getting the most out of penny stocks and how easy it can really be. I am going to give you two tips that have helped me successfully invest in penny stocks for years.

1. Identifying trends or patterns in the market

This is a very easy part that will make you a lot of money! All you are doing basically is looking at the history of a stock price and looking for obvious patterns or trends in the stock price. They come in many forms.

The stock might go up for a month or two then fall back down. If this was the case, then buying right after it falls is the best opportunity. It might be the opposite however and drop over a few months only to jump back up. This is a little more difficult because you have to guess the low point.

These patterns can be in different time spans as well. I work with trends that go over weeks and some that go over years! Regardless of how long it is, you just have to make sure you stay on top of when the expected low point is to buy.

2. Keeping a Log of All The Patterns You Find

This is where you make the big money. You see, if you find a trend that is successful for you, you can use it time and time again. This means you can profit on the same stock as many times as you like. So what if you had found 10 of these and you have them documented and know exactly when to buy and sell off of them? Then you know you have 10 different reliable investments just waiting for you.

Day Trading Stock Picks - How to Double Your Investments in Hours With

Day trading stock picks software was originally only available to high profile traders with large companies. In recent years, however, this same technology has since become accessible to everyday traders and is the perfect way to trade if you are new, don't have the time to devote to effectively trading yourself, OR if you simply aren't making the kind of money that you want from day trading. Here is how day trading stock picks work to double your investments amazingly quickly.

The market progresses in patterns which repeat themselves on average once every 7 years. This can be used to your advantage when trading if you can take this into account when analyzing contemporary market data. The problem is this is difficult to do manually which is why computerized day trading stock picks programs were originally developed to begin with.

These programs take the entire scope of the past market into account in the form of keeping trend databases which they apply to current real time market data to identify similarities to further investigate. Eventually the program identifies what it deems as being a profitable pick and notifies you so that you can trade accordingly.

The day trading stock picks programs which deal primarily in penny stocks are especially ideal because penny stocks prove to be some of the most random, strongest fluctuating, but potentially most profitable investments in the market. Because these stocks are valued a great deal less than more expensive stocks, typically for just pennies (hence the name), they are much more easily influenced and affected, so it's not uncommon to see a penny stock quickly double or triple in value over the period of a few hours or a day. The hurdle of course is identifying these stocks which is why many day trading stock picks programs specifically are designed to target and find this stocks which are set to go on profitable jumps and trends.

Buy Gold - One Thing Must Know!

Guide to buy gold. Nowadays, gold investment be the safest investment. The best possible way to buy gold is to buy online which is quite easy and is delivered right at your doorstep. But to buy gold online, one thing which troubles is that an individual has to give their personal details to the vendor such as passport etc. The delivering authority will also ask about the assets a person owns.

When a person wants to buy gold anonymously, the first step to be taken by that person should be to open a bank account offshore which a minutes' game. In this process, the bank will ask the person for the personal identification like passport or address proof which will be a secret between the person and the banker.

After having the offshore account, an individual can buy Gold from an offshore banking house which is having two advantages -

The purchasing will be completely private. Nobody except the person himself and the banker will know about the gold purchasing.

Since the person is buying the gold through the banker who is already an established client of multiple vendors, therefore, buying and selling of gold is always at a better rate.

After going through all the steps when the gold is delivered that will incur some effective charges that will securely rated and will not be charged by the banker. An individual must learn to buy the gold privately which would be cheaper and another thing that also depends the amount of gold one needs to buy. The next thing is that one must have individual account in order to buy gold which will turn out to be more profitable, and free to invest.

PRIVACY POLICY

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

If you require any more information or have any questions about our privacy policy, please feel free to contact us by email at vina_andrea87@yahoo.com.

At investing-coach.blogspot.com, the privacy of our visitors is of extreme importance to us. Before your gold purchase, always remember to check for the weight stated in Troy ounces, the purity percentage (on average this is 99.98% pure), and the serial number to the particular bar. This is a great time to invest in gold for the sake of your family's future.

Gold Bullion Investment.

Gold Investment - The Investor's Guide to Buy Gold

Gold Investment Tips. After some post about investment such stock market investment, oil investment and trading strategy, now I will tell you about investing through gold.

Demand

The demand for gold is soaring and analysts predict that the price could at some point break through the $2,000 an ounce barrier.

"If you want gold that has an intrinsic and potentially rising investment value, your first options are gold bars or coins, which can be bought over the counter at a gold or bullion dealer" - The Telegraph, November 2008.

Demand for gold rose to $102bn in 2008, which was an increase of almost a third on the previous year.

The main areas of demand for gold have been in the making of jewellery (jewelry), industrial applications including medicine and electronics, governments and central banks to increase their official reserves and private investors.

The True Value of Gold

Gold is the most popular type of precious metal compared to others when it comes to investment. It was first discovered as shining, yellow nuggets.

Gold has been seen as an important commodity throughout history. It is measured in troy ounces and the price of gold is typically stated in terms of the cost of one ounce. One ounce is equivalent to 31.1 grams or .07 pounds.

"Gold coins are viewed as a strong investment vehicle during times of economic uncertainty, a money expert has suggested." - Gold.org

Gold has been used by investors as a safe haven during times of economic crisis. It is referred to as a "safe-haven" and should be a part of every smart investor's portfolio.

New buyers are attracted to gold everyday, not only for its beauty, but because gold is the uniquely private, personal, and portable way to hold some real wealth.

Gold bullion coins in the last twenty years have become the most liquid, divisible, and accepted form of gold bullion worldwide, and they enjoy a much more favorable 'spread' than bullion bars. In the U.S, they are simply the smartest way to buy gold if you are going to take physical possession of the bullion yourself.

Gold always does very well in a downturn and the last recession has been no different. Very recently shares on global stock markets lost around $14 trillion in value and safe havens such as gold became an attractive option for low-risk investment. Gold will never go to zero value whereas many other investments have that possibility.

In the same way that the family home should not be regarded as an investment, gold is not really an investment per se, rather it is a form of 'saving for a rainy day' or of financial insurance. It is to be taken possession of or stored with a secure third party and should not really be traded like stocks and shares. One does not trade an insurance policy and thus as a form of financial insurance, physical gold should not be traded.

Gold bullion is the ultimate safe haven asset and a great way, if not the best way, of ensuring wealth preservation and for passing wealth from one generation to the next.

Once the solid base or core holding of gold bullion is achieved in a portfolio then other investments in gold such as mining stocks and mutual funds and other more speculative gold investments can be considered.

Buying Gold

When buying gold, make sure that the gold you purchase is hallmarked with a specified weight and is certified for authenticity.

A very reliable supplier of private 999.9 pure gold is a company in Switzerland, Agros-Heraeus. They have retailers all over the world that give the option of purchasing gold and silver bullion bars and coins, individually or in bulk.

gold investment tips - brought to you by investing-c0ach.blogpsot.com

Invest For Retirement

Invest for retirement. Few people set money aside and invest on a regular basis just because they enjoy the process. The vast majority do it to get ahead and to accumulate a nest egg for retirement. You can invest for retirement like a pro if you know where to invest, what to invest in and how to invest. Here we cover all three.

The best place to invest for retirement is in your 401k or similar plan at work if one is available to you. The money you set aside is deducted from your paycheck automatically, so you avoid the temptation of spending it. Some employers match what you contribute, and this is free money. Plus, in traditional 401k plans you can get a tax deduction each year you make contributions.

The next best alternative is to open a traditional or Roth IRA. Both offer tax incentives that are advantageous to accumulating a retirement nest egg. If you want to set aside additional money after you max out your 401k and/or IRA, consider a tax-deferred annuity that offers both fixed and variable investment options (a combination or variable annuity).

Now we address what to invest in. All three of the above have something in common. You can invest in stocks, bonds, and other investments that are professionally managed for you in a 401k, IRA or variable annuity.

In a typical 401k the vast majority of investment options are mutual funds ... stock funds and bond funds. If you open an IRA with a major mutual fund family, you should have a broad array of funds to choose from. Variable annuities offer funds (called sub-accounts) as well.

By investing in mutual funds you can diversify and maintain a balanced portfolio just like the pros do. In fact, you have professional money managers selecting stocks, bonds and other investments for you.

Mutual funds are the best way to invest for retirement for most people because the task of selecting specific stocks, bond issues etc. is performed by professionals for the investor at a modest cost.

How to invest becomes much simpler when investing in mutual funds. You need only to select a handful of funds from the following categories to achieve diversification and a balanced retirement investment portfolio: stock funds, bond funds, money market funds and/or balanced funds.

The art of investing or how to invest then comes down to asset allocation. What percent of your assets should you invest in each of the four categories above? This will depend on your risk tolerance, whether you want to be aggressive, moderate or conservative.

For example, moderate or middle-of-the-road investors might want 50% of the cash contributions flowing into their retirement plan going to stock funds with the rest split between bond funds and a money market fund. Or simpler yet, such an investor might allocate 75% to a balanced fund labeled as "moderate", which invests in both stocks and bonds. The other 25% would be allocated to a money market fund for safety.

Now, there is one more crucial step to investing for retirement. Let's say that you decide to invest with 75% of your money going into a moderate balanced fund like a lifecycle fund, and 25% going to a money market fund. Once a year or so you will want to REBALANCE your assets to keep your asset allocation close to your 75% - 25% asset allocation target.

For example, if you see that your balanced fund assets represent 80% vs. 20% in your money market fund, move some money from the balanced fund to the money market fund to get back to 75% - 25%.

These basic guidelines should help you stay on track when investing for retirement, and should moderate your overall risk while producing good average long-term returns.

Invest for retirement

Mutual Funds Investment - The Basic

Mutual Funds are really great investment options designed to reduce risk. In general, you can further divide this form of investing into the following categories: - money market funds are considered very low risk and have very low return. Sometimes, the return on these investments is less than inflation - bond funds invest in government loans, both federal and local. They are low to moderate risk investments and are very sensitive to interest rate changes - balanced funds mix stocks and bonds to reduce the investment risk of stocks and to benefit from the certainty of bonds - stock index funds consist of stocks of companies which are found in market indexes and who generally follow the stock market. As you near retirement, you might want to switch your investments to more conservative funds to preserve their value. Target-date funds simplify long-term investing.

Mutual Fund Companies - These companies allow you to open up a Roth IRA and then choose which of their mutual funds you would like to invest your money in. If you are diligent in keeping up with how the funds are performing, you can switch your money from one fund to another easily. All the matters are the long term trends, and in the long run stable value funds barely keep up with inflation. Unless you are talking about a lifestyle fund, or a couple of very broad based index funds, you are probably not going to get the diversification you need from such a small number of funds. Generally speaking, if you are given the choice between two funds that cover the same asset class, you probably want to pick the one with the lower cost. Select funds that cover different asset classes. Once you have discovered which index your fund tends to follow it will be obvious on the charts then pick one or two funds that follow the $RUT, one or two that follow the $MID, one or two that follow the EFA foreign funds are usually easy to spot by their names , and finally one or two that follow the NASDAQ.

Watch the indexes, and watch your funds if they have symbols. Fixed Funds, sometimes called Guaranteed Funds, are known for steady, predictable growth in the long term. They carry Guaranteed Interest Contracts underwritten by insurance companies, and because of that fact are commonly considered very low risk funds. This includes the additional protection of the funds from garnishment or attachment by creditors or assigned to anyone else, except in the case of domestic relations court cases dealing with divorce decree or child support orders QDROs; i e , qualified domestic relations orders . Day traders are in the midst of experiencing such domination when they conquer a fear of taking over a market the best way possible. It's true and evident that every investor cannot do this, but a very few have an ambition unforeseen in the stock market.

These individuals use their intuition, hard work, and dedication to overcome the ideals of trend setters. Trends can move a market while rumors can change an investor's view of their picks; who has the ability to work in this change of fluidity? Investors that want to dominate the market by creating a plan and executing it without fear.

1. Review Company Profiles

Company profiles harness information about leadership teams, management supervisors, goals, the company's purpose, and the personalities leading a business. As an investor, it's good to know which companies have strong leaders because their leadership can produce profits. Profit is generated by a company leader with a vision, works hard to encourage developments, and harnesses the power of self-discipline to push a firm forward.

Investors prefer leaders that have experience in a company. Top CEOs, financial advisers, and employees can determine the strength of a firm's production. What happens if a press release states a firm change in management? Stocks may sell. Stock prices may drop. Stocks may remain neutral for the first 10 hours. After those 10 hours, the firm starts evolving into a new company. Investors are aware of all of this and they focus on leadership, press releases, and the capabilities of their companies to produce profit for their portfolio.

2. Create a Work Schedule

How many hours are you willing to put into your business? Yes, day trading is a business because it needs a plan, purpose, and manage the loss. A work schedule includes understanding your best research times, evaluating your efforts, and implementing new techniques to find great picks. The

Fruit of labor comes from learning the basics then earning consistently.

Your work schedule should include times for research, learning new strategies, and workshops in day trading for investing. Anyone interested in following or dominating a niche must undertake a lot of scrutiny by consistency. Learning how to harness your working power can help edge you closer to what you'd like to achieve in your investing strategies.

3. Work Consistently

Consistency can change the way you view your portfolio; investors with experience understand that a strong winning streak in the markets. An important fact to remember is you will not have an opportunity to do the same thing every day you trade. You have to learn the ins and outs of certain industries then stick to their companies stocks.

The best firms tend to invest in research just as you should. Invest in what matters most which is time in learning about your picks then you will see the benefit's the moment you wake to a new balance in your brokerage account.

Futures Trading Guide

Similar to the Options trading, Futures trading also deals with the trading of contracts or bonds. Its contract, which is known as the "Futures contract," is an agreement between the seller and the purchaser regarding a specific product at a definite amount and time. This agreement however, is determined by the trading market.

Future trading guides are particular about the Futures price. As this type of trading is done in popular futures exchanges, the futures price greatly settles based on the law of supply and demand. This scenario happens between the buying and the selling of the bond, when the trends are drawn based on this economic law.

In this type of trading, the buyers and the sellers anticipate high prices in the future. Largely, the cost of the contract remains in effect during this market situation. Fluctuations of the value cause the bonds to go low. Thus, transactions in this type of market are largely reliant on the profit margin than those commodities involved.

Terminologies in the Futures trading guide are also pertinent to the investor's venture. These terms involve essential methodologies, that should be understood by futures traders most especially the novice ones. Thus, in this Futures trading guide, these terms will be discussed thoroughly.

One of the key terms that a Futures trader should know is the "settlement price." The "settlement price" is the official final price in the futures contract or agreement at the closing stage of the trading session. This price remains fixed for a specific date, as dictated by the trade in the Futures market.

The "settlement date" or the "delivery date" on the other hand, is the date of Futures deliverance. This very date is relevant to the bond's deliverance.

Owners of the Futures bond are under obligation of obtaining and delivering bonds in accordance to the rules of the contract. This is then the obvious dissimilarity of the Futures trader from the Options trader for Options buyers have rights to their assets but they do not have any obligation at all. Options traders have the choice whether they are going to execute a contract or not. In the Futures trade however, the buyers and the sellers are under no force in settling contracts during the delivery date. The sellers give the assets to the purchasers upon finishing a deal. If the money has been settled in the Futures bond, loss-incurring positions are shifted to profit making.

These insights are just a few of the pertinent information in the Futures trading. There are a lot of information that needs to be discussed and studied before one can ensure success in the Futures trading. This Futures trading guide is just a piece of the pie that a Futures trader should eat before getting involved in bigger deals in the Futures trading market. There are many terminologies, strategies and methodologies that should be remembered to ensure great profits after every transaction. It is important that you would master them to avoid risks of financial
loss.

Source

http://www.yourtradingzone.com/futures-trading

Investing And Make Money With Penny Stocks Investment

If you are looking for a great investment in you may want to consider buying and selling penny stocks. By being too conservative am I missing the boat on good opportunities?

The Problem -Fear of International Investing
From coups in Columbia to debt defaults in Russia, it is easy to make blanket statements about the risks of international investing. Only after you peal back the onion do you learn the rewards more than outweigh the risks.

The Solution - Understanding the Benefits
Imagine understanding the principles behind a Nobel Prize. Stop imagining - you can. Dr. Harry Markowitz was jointly awarded the prize in economics for his contributions to portfolio theory. His portfolio theory boils down to this: by combining asset classes that move dissimilarly to one another, you can reduce risk within your portfolio. In practical terms, a recession in the U.S. may not stop the stellar growth in China - they can act dissimilarly to one another.

If you can only remember one thing from this article, here it is: adding international investments to an all U.S. portfolio reduces risk and increases return!

A Historical Perspective
Over the last 30 years ending in 2006, the S&P 500 (an index that represents the U.S. stock market) has generated an annualized return of 12.5%. During the same period, the MSCI EAFA (an index that represents the international stock markets) generated an annualized return of 12.8%. Although the MSCI EAFA generated higher returns, it did so with higher risk. Had you combined both indexes, you would have generated an "optimal" risk and return portfolio.

Optimal Risk Portfolio
Mathematically speaking, the "optimal" risk portfolio is a one where you are fairly rewarded with higher returns for higher levels of risk. While this may seem very logical, many investors have a less than optimal portfolio - either too aggressive or too conservative. In either case, the investor is not fairly rewarded for their risk. Over the last 30 years, the optimal risk portfolio of global stock investments was comprised of 20% MSCI EAFA and 80% S&P 500.

International Investment Opportunities
In the last 50 years, international stocks as a percentage of the world's stock market value have more than doubled. Approximately75% of all publicly traded companies around the world are outside the U.S.

In 2006, the top five largest automobile manufactures, construction companies and food products companies are all international companies. From Toyota and Nestle to British Petroleum and Siemens, some of the world's leading companies are outside the U.S. Investors who do not maintain investments outside the U.S. are missing tremendous investment opportunities.

Emerging Markets Investment Opportunities
The emerging markets include countries such as Argentina, Brazil, China and India. Although investments in these markets may entail greater political, economic and currency risks, returns have been stellar. Over the last 10 years ending in April, 2008, the S&P 500 has generated an annualized return of 3.9%. During the same period, the MSCI EM (an index that represents the 25 emerging country stock markets) generated an annualized return of 10.7%.

Action Steps - Diversify Internationally
Not only does investing internationally provide access so some of the world's leading companies, but the addition of international investments can reduce the risk of your portfolio while increasing its return. Diversify internationally and reap the rewards.

Source
www.skloff.com

Future Finance Starts Now

Good day to the hard working citizens of the United States of America. As the financial crisis continues to wear on, it has become very evident that there are a lot of people out there having a hard time making sense of what is going on and how it will impact them in the future. There is no clear-cut answer, but I do know that sitting on your hands or sticking you head in the sand will not help matters. So what do we do? I attended a presentation recently on developing wealth and as I sat and listened to the speaker I was struck by one simple fact. Out of every 1000 baby boomers (45-65 years old) 5% will retire with enough money to live out their lives comfortably and 95% will not. I do not know how that makes you feel but as a baby boomer that scares me a little, not because I might be in 95%, but because we are doing nothing about it. What are we teaching Generation X's and Y's. Will they be I same situation we are in today? Who knows where Social Security is going to be in 40 or 50 years. What I propose is that we start today and make some changes and set a good example for future generations to follow.

These changes do not have to be huge and far reaching. Lets start by living within our means. We should not spend more than we bring home each week, otherwise we are using credit to keep us afloat, and we all know where that leads. Second, let us set some specific goals (e.g. college for the children in 5 years, retirement in November 2026) and from there, you can begin to develop a plan, with some help of course. In this day and age of multiple retirement vehicles, new tax laws every time you turn around, and college education that can cost more than a house, your finances are not just the checkbook anymore. You need to factor in your current financial position, your net worth, your accumulation goals, your tax strategies (yes the government will not do it for you), your retirement plans, risk management and estate planning. Well, if that sound a bit overwhelming, it is.

Take for example retirement. Are you involved in a defined benefit program or a defined contribution plan at work? How does that affect your taxes? Do you put money into a Roth IRA or a traditional IRA? How does that help you at retirement? Should I put money into all of these? How much money am I allowed to contribute or do I make too much money to contribute? These are all valid questions that need to be answered to have an effective plan, and this is only one portion of your financial picture. How is this area integrated into the whole picture so that all of your goals are achieved? If you do not have the answer to these questions, you are not alone. Millions of American's are in the same situation.

So, let me ask you one last question. What happens if you get sick, your car gets sick or your house is sick? You hire a professional to fix it. I bet you have a doctor that knows everything about you, an auto mechanic that knows your car better than you and you use a qualified plumber, electrician or roofer to make home repairs. However, what happens when your finances are sick? Do you have someone that knows how to fix it? I propose you seek out professional help, i.e. a financial advisor. The cost of their service is usually very reasonable compared to the consequences of doing nothing. So lets plan a good future for us, and the generations to come.

Future Finance Starts Now

Good day to the hard working citizens of the United States of America. So lets plan a good future for us, and the generations to come.

401k Funds Still Worth It?

Anytime there is a drawdown in the stock market everyone still wonders if the stock market is really a great place to put your nest egg and save for retirement.

In short it is still better to be invested in the stock market now then it is to pull your money out and put it into a bank and here is why.

1. Stocks have a great track record

Stocks tend to beat all other asset classes over the long term and have been doing that for ages. Just because we have seen a little drawdown recently isn't going to change this fact. Bears markets come and go, but in the end stocks have been going up.

2. Bank Accounts Don't even beat inflation

When you think of the alternative you can see how important stocks are. Sure you can pull out all of your money and invest it into a bank CD, but why do that when you are actually losing money. Most people do not realize that they lose money by putting them into a CD. If a bank pays out 2% interest but inflation is at 4% you are losing 2% a year. Stocks on the other hand normally beat inflation with flying colors.

3. Some Employers Match you

Some employers match how much you put into your 401k plan. So if you put $500 into the plan the
company puts an additional $500 into it. If your employer offers this why not take advantage of it. It is free money after all.

4. Now is the time

History has shown that the best time to invest in stocks is right after a bears market. With stocks down so low this is the buying opportunity that only happens once in a lifetime.

How to Get the Best Software For Day Trading

Software for day trading or software which analyzes market data to effectively predict where the market will go next so that you can trade accordingly has been increasing in value in recent years. Undoubtedly this can be attributed to the fact that this technology is growing in popularity, but it is also getting more sophisticated and adept at identifying profitable trends so that you can trade accordingly.

Perhaps because so many new and inexperienced traders have found success with this technology that a number of less than reputable programs have come out purely to capitalize on that success. Here are a couple of things which you should keep in mind to find the best software for day trading.

While this may seem like it goes without saying, you should only deal with publishers who offer full money back guarantees. These are the publishers who stand by their products enough to guarantee your satisfaction and back it up in this way, but not only that, these are the publishers who will allow you to test their programs completely risk free.

When dealing with software for day trading there is no reason to not test it given the ease, and in fact many publishers encourage that you test their software. It is a very quick and no risk process as all you've got to do is receive a few of the program's stock picks, then simply follow their performances along in the market. Ideally many to all of these stocks which the program has picked will perform admirably so that you can begin investing in its future picks confidently.

A very important thing which I recommend that you to make sure which your software for day trading does is deal entirely in penny stocks. Penny stocks are generally lower risk but carry a great deal of profit potential given that these are lower value stocks and are much easier to influence. It is not uncommon for one of these stocks to quickly burst in value enabling you to double or triple your investment in short pockets, the only obstacle is finding one of these stocks. This is why the software for day trading which focuses on penny stocks is ideal as it is adept and designed to identify these high probability stocks.

SOURCE

EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jonathan_Langley

Online Broker Comparison - Questions Every Investor Should Ask

What kind of investor are you? Are you an active trader, a buy and hold investor, or do foreign markets interest you? Finding out what kind of investor you are is the first step in comparing discount brokers. Each online broker you work with will have a specialty they've built their business around. Some specialties include customer service, mutual fund management, low cost trading, real time tools, user friendly interface, or having a network of traders interact with each other. Which of these specialties is the best?

For the majority of investors most online brokers have all the services they could possibly ever need. With that in mind what are the main areas to compare.

Ease of use. Websites that are easy to use will help you avoid a lot of headaches. Usually within a few minutes of trying to sign-up you will have an idea of how easy the rest of the company's site will be like.

Minimum balance to start an account and avoid fees. Are you an active investor with access to enough cash to open an account. Do you have enough available to avoid account minimum fees? For most online brokers this is not an issue because they have eliminated all these kinds of fees.

Inactivity fees. What if your account is inactive? Will you be charged a fee? Some broker's inactivity fees in are figured on a monthly basis. If you are a buy and hold investor they may penalize you for not actively trading. Again, this is usually not an issue. This is usually an issue with big name brokers that haven't really caught on to the low cost mentality.

Customer Support. How easy is it to contact someone at customer support? If you needed something urgent could you talk to a real person about your account?

Investment Products. Are you wanting to invest in more than just regular stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and options? If you prefer mutual funds, does the broker have a wide range of no-load and load funds to choose from? Many brokers don't like trading penny stock or excessively risky stock. If you are

Timely Execution of Trades. How long does it take for the broker to execute an order after you've placed it? While most companies will be very close on time of execution some are worst than others. A search engine can make short work of investigating if a company has had problems in this area.

Does the Broker have Physical Locations? Many investors that are internet savvy have never placed foot in a physical location and have traded for years. Other investors may take solace in knowing they can drive to a branch and talk to someone face to face.

Trade Commissions. How much will it cost to trade? How many trades do you anticipate executing each year? How much of your total investment will the commission represent? Trading costs can add up quickly if you buy a number of individual stock, buy weekly, or sell regularly.

Research& Analysis Tools. Are you a technical investor? Free access to tools and research can save you hundreds of dollars each year.

Sophistication of trading tools. Can the broker perform the type of trades you are trying to execute? What kind of automation and customization are available to you?

SOURCE

TradeKing Rating

Why Macro Trading?

Like most investors we started out as plain vanilla stock traders. Initially we did value investing and then over time gravitated more over to momentum/CANSLIM investing with a twist. We wanted higher and more consistent returns so we kind of blended some value principles into the momentum investing and ended up with a GARP-growth at a reasonable price methodology. By demanding at least some value we were able to lower our risk profile quite a bit and didn't really give up any of our gains. In fact the equity curve was very smooth for some time.

Of course most good things come to an end and we found that in the summer of 2000 we were getting tired of being almost entirely out of the market and not being able to make money. So we started doing a lot more work into who and what was making money. In the stock arena some of the value guys were starting to do well and the short sellers of course did great. But what really got our attention was when we looked at different markets and hedge fund performance tables. The number one strategy was global macro trading and we saw several well known names on the list. Bruce Kovner at Caxton, Paul Tudor Jones at Tudor, and Louis Bacon at Moore were all doing well with smooth equity curves.

The more digging we did the more we saw that in almost every bear market global macro was one of if not the best performer. And they did well in "normal" markets as well generating returns basically all of the time. While the returns were indeed lumpy they had very few and very low drawdown's. This appealed to us as we hate losing money, so any approach that focuses on risk management appeals to us.

Over time we decided to do everything that we could in order to learn how to effectively trade and model bonds, commodities, and currencies as well as how to effectively manage risk in each of these asset classes. We also did a lot more work into learning about real asset allocation and real diversification. Over time we have added several sub strategies to our arsenal where we have anything from entirely technical to entirely fundamental model with everything in between to help us to get an edge.

Since early 2001 we have been global macro traders and have been successful in both good and bad markets. We are able to do this by not being wed to any one market and instead being true capitalists looking for the best risk to reward opportunities on the globe. We think that global macro trading is the best strategy in existence as it gives enough flexibility to do anything you need to do to generate positive returns.

The Macro Trader helps people profit and navigate the global financial markets using Global Macro Trading strategies. The world has been transformed on almost every front. Politically, governments and national boundaries have come and gone. Through technology, we routinely communicate with the farthest corners of the earth in a matter of seconds. Economically, events in far-flung stock markets across the globe impact every market.

But not only governments and economic markets are affected. These global changes also bring about new financial realities on an individual level. The widespread availability of credit cards and automated teller machines makes spending much easier today than in days gone by. And the proliferation of at-home and on-line banking and investing services allows individuals to act more quickly--and sometimes more rashly--than ever before when making financial decisions.

These changes affect virtually everyone in the United States--from our youngest workers and students to our eldest retirees. Yet most young people in America begin their financial lives unschooled in the basics of saving and investing and unaware of how quickly "easy credit" can add up to big debt. For example, in its 1999 Youth and Money Survey, the American Savings Education Council (ASEC) found that forty percent of students are likely to buy a pair of jeans (or something similar) they really want even if they do not have the money to pay for it. And 70 percent would pay for it with a "credit card."

And while most adults have high expectations for retirement, many will fail to maintain the lifestyle and standard of living to which they have become accustomed because they failed to plan and save. According to an August 1998 study by the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), more than half of American workers--55 percent--have no idea how much they will need to save to save to make their retirement dreams a reality.

Planning for future financial needs--especially for retirement--has also changed. In the past, the burden of planning for the future fell primarily on such external forces as government (through Social Security and Medicare) and employers (through pension plans directed by the employer). Today, however, the responsibility for one's financial future has shifted to the individual.

Over the years I have made incredible amounts of money at my day job in sales of entertainment, real estate and mortgage origination. And, as most Americans, I lived in the day, a boy with his toys, had the cars, the time shares, the big houses yada, yada, yada. In a recent meeting with my business manager, he produced reports from these various incomes. It was simply amazing to learn that the benefits of my own business and investments in real estate were in in fact saviours of our family's retirement. We can make it happen in the next five years, despite our carelessness in financial planning, as we all can. EDUCATION IS THE ANSWER, WHAT'S THE QUESTION?

Let's get together as an American people and start to change our ways, our education system and our lives.

High Income Bonds and Bond Funds

In today's crazy interest rate world, investors are searching high and low for more interest income. One place to find it is in high-income bond mutual funds called HIGH YIELD bond funds. Let's look at June of 2009. If you required a real high degree of safety, you could get a bit over 2% a year if you tied your money up for 5 years in a bank CD. If you were willing to accept a moderate level of risk, many bond funds were yielding (paying) 5% or 6%. High yield bond funds were also available from large mutual fund companies that offered yields of 10% and more.

How can a bond fund pay interest rate yields of 10% when interest rates are near historical lows? These high yield bond funds invest in lower-quality bonds, sometimes referred to as "junk". Hence, the term often used to describe these mutual funds is JUNK BOND FUNDS. At the one extreme you have high quality "investment grade" bonds and bond funds. These are issued by entities with very high credit ratings, and the risk of default to investors is low.

At the other extreme you have junk bonds, where the issuer has a poor credit rating and default is a real possibility. If a corporation gets into financial difficulty, for example, it might default and quit paying interest to its bond holders. If things go from bad to real bad for the company, investors may fear that they will default and not be able to pay bond owners back as agreed when the bonds mature.

Either way, risk of default is real, and sends the price or value of a junk bond down. The lower the price of a junk bond, the higher the yield. For example, you buy a bond with a 5% coupon interest rate for $1000. A few years later the bond heads toward junk status and its price declines to $500 in the bond market.

An investor who buys this bond for $500 is betting that the issuer will continue to pay $50 per year in interest. That produces a current yield of 10% to the investor who bought the bond for $500 ($50 divided by $500).

The average investor is not capable of analyzing individual bond issues to find a promising high yield opportunity. Professional money managers who manage bond funds are (hopefully). If you decide to opt for high yield bonds go with a high yield bond fund. Here you will be invested in a diversified portfolio of these bonds, which lowers your risk of default considerably. If a couple bonds out of a portfolio of hundreds go bad, no big deal.

Just remember, there is no free lunch in the investment world. High yield bonds and bond funds involve risk. Their price or value fluctuates, sometimes as much as stock prices do. Their advantage is obvious ... high income.

Here are two tips for those of you tempted by these high income investments. First, consider no-load high yield bond funds with low expense ratios. There is no sense in paying a sales charge, or high expenses. This works only to lower your return.

Second, invest in increments rather than in one lump sum. For example, let's say you want to invest $50,000 into a high yield fund. Start with $10,000 in the high yield bond fund and $40,000 in a money market fund with the same fund company. Then have them set you up so that $1000 to $2000 flows each month from the money fund to your bond fund until all of your money is in the junk bond fund.

Using the above strategy, you lower the risk of investing too much at the wrong time. Plus, your money buys more shares when the fund price is lower. This is called DOLLAR COST AVERAGING, and is an effective investor tool.

A retired financial planner, James Leitz has an MBA (finance) and 35 years of investing experience. For 20 years he advised individual investors, working directly with them helping them to reach their financial goals.

Types of Mutual Funds - Get the Facts on Choosing the Right Mutual Fund For You

Mutual funds should seriously be considered as part of your investment portfolio if they aren't already as they allow for diversification and reduced risk. Gathering as much information is vital to becoming a successful investor. Here are the different types of mutual funds available.

Money Market Funds

These are generally categorized as having the lowest risk as these typically consist of Treasury bills and government bonds. While you shouldn't expect a huge return on your investment, money market funds are ideal for those who are conservative or want to avoid risk altogether. The good thing about these types of funds is that you can expect to get back twice what you would get from a savings account.

Balanced Funds

As you can probably guess by the name, these types of mutual funds invest into different types of assets such as stocks, bonds and other equities. These funds typically consist of 40% fixed income assets with the other 60% invested in equities. These funds are ideal for those investors who want to diversify their risk by investing into different assets while also getting a return on their investment.

Global Fund

Global funds consist of investments around the world and are generally difficult to classify them as being riskier or safer than other types of mutual funds. One thing to note is that depending on the economic climate of the country being invested in, they can be extremely volatile. However, these types of funds are excellent for countries with potential economic growth such as India or China.

Prior to investing, be sure to always do your research while analyzing the benefits and risks of each. You can always practice too by using pretend money and managing a portfolio as if you were really going to invest. Finding the right mutual fund will ultimately depend on what you are most comfortable with.

Ready to get started?

Get more free tips on the types of mutual funds and what you need to know to be a successful investor.

Know More About IRA Rollover

Are you aware of IRA rollover? Well, you should be. You must be knowledgeable about these things. Just in case you want to do it, you'll know what to do. So why do people rollover their Individual Retirement Accounts in the first place. For one, when people change jobs, they also need to change their custodian. The accounts are usually sponsored by their employers and if they seek a new employment later, there's a need for a rollover. Another reason is on the returns. Of course, all wanted higher returns on their accounts. If ever their accounts are only generating minimal returns, rollovers are a possible option for them.

You must understand first the concept of IRA rollover. Basically, it is a transfer of funds from the tax-deferred account into traditional accounts. If you decided to change job, the account sponsored by the employer can be rollover into your own account. By rolling over, you are now in control of your account. Investment decisions and other future distributions are in your hands. Under the law, retirement accounts can be invested in various investment types like stocks, mutual funds and others. The good thing about it is the tax implications. The transfer of the fund is free of tax. The fund will still grow continuously on the deferred basis inside your own account.

Another type of IRA rollover is the transfer of funds from one IRA to another one. This is done because the holders are not satisfied in terms of returns. The transfer here is also tax-free. So, how can you transfer an employer-sponsored account into your own? There are two ways in which you can do it: direct and indirect. Under the direct rollover, there's simply a transfer of eligible distributions into your own account. It's like a transfer has never happened in the first place. Unlike in indirect, the custodian writes a check and then distributes it to you. Then it's your responsibility to deposit the money into your own bank account.

Then eventually transfer it to an Individual Retirement Account within 60 days. If you've made a deposit within that stated period, the transfer is totally tax-free. An advantage of direct over is the absence of withholding tax imposed by the taxing authority. In the indirect method, it is subject to an income tax withholding rule. IRA rollover can also be done by rolling over from an IRA to another one. The procedures are quite similar to that of an employee-sponsored to an IRA. However, the only distinction is on the eligibility of the retirement distribution. The same methods also apply to this type.

However, the indirect and indirect don't have any withholding tax consequences. Whether you opt for either of the two, you won't be liable for any withholding income tax. However, there is a limitation on the indirect method. You are only allowed to rollover an IRA to IRA once a year. IRA rollover is really an option to retirement plan holders. With the Individual Retirement Account rules, owners will have many choices regarding their retirement plans.

Author: Rick Goldfeller

The Continued Demand For Gold - Should You Invest in Or Sell Your Gold?

This past February gold prices climbed up to a high price of $973.20 an ounce. One can only question, should I invest in gold? Gold has a long history of being man's prized possession and item of great worth and value.

Originally found at the bottom of streams and rivers in its pure form, gold has always played a large part in human culture. Because it's found all over the world and retains its natural beauty, man has always viewed gold as a symbol of wealth and fortune. Since it neither tarnishes or corrodes, gold is very easy to work with and has withstood through the ages.

In many ancient cultures gold is often associated with leadership, immortality, and the Gods. The very concept of money itself has been derived from the trading and coin making of gold. The first gold coins originated from the Lydian merchants in around 700 B.C. It continued to act as a source of trade and wealth during the age of the Greeks. It has been sought after since the ''Gold of Troy'' in 2500 B.C. to the California Gold Rush in 1849. Even today, gold has great value and is sold, traded, and invested daily.

In the past decade, gold has raised in value by a whopping 200 percent. Investors have found this ancient metal to be a worthwhile and reliable commodity for investment. This is one reason to sell your gold -- it is continually growing in worth, and building up in value. Whether you decide to keep and invest your gold, or sell it for a good price, gold is a valuable thing to possess.

http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Ryan_Underdown

How to Start Day Trading Anywhere

Day Trading is an exciting and risky side to buying and selling stocks on the stock market. Typically day trading is used to mean the buying and selling of stocks (sometimes multiple times) on a single trading day and with the intention of having all transactions closed and completed before the market closes for that day. This used to be almost solely the arena of financial companies and banks or investment firms, however the [ad#ad1]invention of the internet has opened up the possibility of individual day traders in a way that we haven't seen before. However, it can be an extremely risky way of doing business. It is important that you understand and recognize all the benefits of day trading, and get plenty of practice before you start. Sometimes the amount of options and possibilities in front of someone who is just getting started out in day trading can seem overwhelming, but this article will hopefully help get you pointed off in the right direction.

The good news is that you are already doing the first step, you are getting educated. There are a wide variety of websites about day trading on the internet along with many books that have been written about the subject. The best way to ensure your overall success is to be as well informed as possible about the techniques and strategies of day trading. If you have a friend who has done it successfully, ask to sit in and watch them some days. Look for brokerage firms that over training classes or seminars on the subject, and you should make sure they'll help you along as you make the transition from student to trader.

Another useful resource is how many internet brokerage firms offer "practice" accounts. By using real stocks and real stock market information but trading with "play" money, you can practice and learn until you are consistently turning a profit. Since all the information for your practice account comes from the real stock market, you can analyze your techinques and strategies and try to find the weaknesses in your trading style. After several weeks of practicing, you might be very grateful that you weren't using real money to establish this valuable learning curve!

Many day traders will start out by doing what's known as swing trading. This is a middle ground between traditional buy and hold strategies and the highly volatile world of day trading. When you intend to swing trade a stock you will hold it for several days or perhaps only between 1 to 3 weeks, and then sell it on an upswing in the market. The strategies are similiar to day trading, however the variance is a little less. This will get you used to trying to track market trends and understanding which stocks are best for you to pick, letting you ease into trading at a slightly slower pace that will be less stressful. As you get used to playing the market and turning a profit, you can begin trading faster and faster until you're a genuine day trader.

Last but not least, you should be prepared to take some losses. Even the best financial minds in the country do not have a 100 percent success ratio, and it is your profit over the long-term that counts. You'll need to have enough money to be able to withstand some losing days, so that instead of losing everything or becoming too stressed out over it, you can learn from your losses and get back into the trading as soon as possible.

http://www.searchmoney.com.au/

Be Wise, Control The emotion in Stock Market

As I was walking on the street today, I passed by an advertisement of an investment house. It stated "Be An Investor, Don't Be A Gambler." I could not agree more with this statement when it comes to money investment or trading in the stock market. You simply cannot have the gambling mindset if you like to make money in the stock market.

Many millionaires are born in the market simply not because they have very good skills or technique to forecast the market direction. The simple reason is that they have a trading plan to follow when they trade or invest in the stock market.

Don't Be A Gambler

"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail"

I sure many of us have heard about this statement. It apply for stock trading and investment as well. Many of us get into the stock market wishing to make BIG BIG money at the FASTEST and SHORTEST time. That's a gambler mindset. Imagine this, you heard your friends, or your relatives talking about a specific stock counter, how fast it grows and how it make money. I am sure you will start to feel a bit greedy and like to involve in the game. Then, you follow their suggestion, call up your broker and place an order. Good, the stock started to grow, but suddenly it crashed. You ended up holding on to the stock with huge paper loss.

Does that sound familiar to you? This is the mindset just that you are walking into the casino. You are betting that the market with 50-50 chance of winning. You are a follower and you make decision based on gossip, rumour or broadcast news. You are wishing simply that there is a day that the money pouring down from the sky and all lands into your garage.

Stop this day dreaming "Gambling" mindset. The only way you can be profitable in the stock market is to be a wise investor.

Be A Wise Investor

There is not free lunch in the world. It is the same in the stock market. No doubt that there are many people making millions in the stock market. But it simply did not happen by luck.

The single factor that distinguish between a good and bad investor is the willingness to learn.

If you are serious and want to be a millionaire in the stock market, you must be willing to learn. There are 2 main schools in stock market analysis. They are fundamental analysis or technical analysis. They both have pros and cons and none of them is perfect. However, start to pick up the skill by learning either technique will help you to analyse the market. These information about stock market trends or the stock valuation will help you to make an informed decision on what to buy or short.

This approach is a total contrast to placing order simply listening to your friends or relatives or even your brokers. Remember, they are not responsible for your money, only you are responsible for your own money. Some investors call this sustainable competitive advantage a "moat". Companies with a moat tend to dominate industry niches in which they operate, and the stock market tends to reward investors in these companies with higher stock prices as they grow within their market niche.

Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) = Net Operating Profit After Taxes (NOPAT) / Invested Capital
Return on invested capital is a good way to screen for companies that may have a moat, because it measures how efficiently a company uses its available money to create the profit it generates. If a company has a large return on the capital it invests, especially when compared to its competitors, it is probably because the company has a more efficient way of producing its goods or services, or it can charge prices that allow it to earn more profit margin than its competitors.

Here are 4 reasons that make return on invested capital an indicator you should use to screen for companies that may continue to achieve above average growth:

1) Management efficiency - ROIC shows how well a management team generates operating profits vs. the amount of money they use to generate those gains
2) Clarifies the Income Statement - Instead of just focusing on net income (the "E" in the P/E ratio), ROIC uses NOPAT instead, which removes items like investment income and interest expense (among others), which gives a much clearer picture of how much profit the company is actually generating as a result of its profit making operations
3) By using investment capital instead of just equity or assets (like return on equity (ROE) or return on assets (ROA)), return on investment capital uses deployed equity AND debt capital, and removes cash that is just sitting in a bank account collecting interest instead of generating returns via the company's operations
4) Companies with a high return on invested capital within their industry are generally leaders, or emerging leaders, within their market niche.

By using the ROIC formula shown above, you can prove what this article states with a quick visit to MSN money, and comparing the historic return on invested capital rankings of Google and Yahoo (you probably used one of these search engines to find this article). As you see the ROIC values for these two companies, and look at their relative stock price performance, you may find the results enlightening.

my-finance-tips.blogspot.com
